Joni Mitchell. Blue.

1. All I want.

I am on a lonely road and I am traveling, traveling, traveling, traveling, looking for something, what can it be? Oh I hate you some, I hate you some, I love you some, oh I love you when I forget about me. I want to be strong, I want to laugh along, I want to belong to the living, alive, alive, I want to get up and jive, I want to wreck my stockings in some juke box dive. Do you want - do you want - do you want to dance with me baby, do you want to take a chance on maybe finding some sweet romance with me baby. Well, come on.

All I really, really want our love to do is to bring out the best in me and in you too. All I really, really want our love to do is to bring out the best in me and in you. I want to talk to you, I want to shampoo you, I want to renew you again and again, applause, applause - life is our cause, when I think of your kisses my mind see-saws. Do you see - do you see - do you see how you hurt me baby? So I hurt you too, then we both get so blue.

I am on a lonely road and I am traveling, looking for the key to set me free. Oh the jealousy, the greed is the unraveling, it's the unraveling, and it undoes all the joy that could be. I want to have fun, I want to shine like the sun, I want to be the one that you want to see, I want to knit you a sweater, want to write you a love letter, I want to make you feel better, I want to make you feel free. Hmm, Hmm, Hmm, Hmm, want to make you feel free, I want to make you feel free.

2. My old man.

My old man, he's a singer in the park, he's a walker in the rain, he's a dancer in the dark. We don't need no piece of paper from the city hall, keeping us tied and true, my old man keeping away my blues.

He's my sunshine in the morning, he's my fireworks at the end of the day, he's the warmest chord I ever heard, play that warm chord, play and stay baby. We don't need no piece of paper from the city hall, keeping us tied and true, my old man keeping away my blues. But when he's gone, me and them lonesome blues collide. The bed's too big, the frying pan's too wide.

Then he comes home and he takes me in his loving arms, and he tells me all his troubles, and he tells me all my charms. We don't need no piece of paper from the city hall, keeping us tied and true. No, my old man keeping away my blues. But when he's gone, me and them lonesome blues collide. The bed's too big, the frying pan's too wide.

My old man, he's a singer in the park, he's a walker in the rain, he's a dancer in the dark. We don't need no piece of paper from the city hall, keeping us tied and true. No, my old man keeping away my lonesome blues.

3. Little green.

Born with the moon in Cancer, choose her a name she will answer to. Call her green and the winters cannot fade her, call her green for the children who've made her, little green, be a gypsy dancer. He went to California, hearing that everything's warmer there, so you write him a letter and say, "Her eyes are blue." He sends you a poem and she's lost to you, little green, he's a non-conformer.

Just a little green, like the color when the spring is born, there'll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow. Just a little green, like the nights when the Northern lights perform, there'll be icicles and birthday clothes, and sometimes there'll be sorrow.

Child with a child pretending, weary of lies you are sending home, so you sign all the papers in the family name. You're sad and you're sorry, but you're not ashamed, little green, have a happy ending.

Just a little green, like the color when the spring is born, there'll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow. Just a little green, like the nights when the Northern lights perform, there'll be icicles and birthday clothes, and sometimes there'll be sorrow.

4. Carey.

The wind is in from Africa, last night I couldn't sleep, oh, you know it sure is hard to leave here Carey, but it's really not my home. My fingernails are filthy, I got beach tar on my feet, and I miss my clean white linen and my fancy French cologne. Oh Carey get out your cane and I'll put on some silver, oh you're a mean old Daddy, but I like you fine.

Come on down to the Mermaid Cafe and I will buy you a bottle of wine, and we'll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down. Let's have a round for these freaks and these soldiers, a round for these friends of mine, let's have another round for the bright red devil who keeps me in this tourist town. Come on, Carey, get out your cane, I'll put on some silver, oh you're a mean old Daddy, but I like you.

Maybe I'll go to Amsterdam, or maybe I'll go to Rome, and rent me a grand piano and put some flowers 'round my room. But let's not talk about fare-thee-welIs now, the night is a starry dome, and they're playin' that scratchy rock and roll beneath the Matalla Moon. Come on, Carey, get out your cane and I'll put on some silver, you're a mean old Daddy, but I like you.

The wind is in from Africa, last night I couldn't sleep, oh, you know it sure is hard to leave here, but, it's really not my home. Maybe it's been too long a time since I was scramblin' down in the street, now they got me used to that clean white linen and that fancy French cologne. Oh Carey, get out your cane, I'll put on my finest silver. We'll go to the Mermaid Café, have fun tonight, I said, oh, you're a mean old Daddy, but you're out of sight.

5. Blue.

Blue, songs are like tattoos, you know I've been to sea before, crown and anchor me, or let me sail away. Hey blue, here is a song for you, ink on a pin underneath the skin, an empty space to fill in. Well there're so many sinking now, you've got to keep thinking, you can make it thru these waves, acid, booze, and ass, needles, guns, and grass, lots of laughs, lots of laughs.

Everybody's saying that hell's the hippest way to go, well I don't think so but I'm gonna take a look around it though, blue, I love you. Blue, here is a shell for you, inside you'll hear a sigh, a foggy lullaby, there is your song from me.

6. California.

Sitting in a park in Paris, France, reading the news and it sure looks bad, they won't give peace a chance. That was just a dream some of us had, still a lot of lands to see, but I wouldn't want to stay here, it's too old and cold and settled in its ways here. Oh, but California, California, I'm coming home, I'm going to see the folks I dig, I'll even kiss a Sunset pig, California I'm coming home.

I met a redneck on a Grecian isle who did the goat dance very well, he gave me back my smile but he kept my camera to sell, oh the rogue, the red, red rogue, he cooked good omelettes and stews, and I might have stayed on with him there, but my heart cried out for you, California. Oh California, I'm coming home, oh make me feel good rock'n roll band, I'm your biggest fan, California, I'm coming home.

Oh it gets so lonely when you're walking, and the streets are full of strangers, all the news of home you read, just gives you the blues, just gives you the blues.

So I bought me a ticket, I caught a plane to Spain, went to a party down a red dirt road, there were lots of pretty people there, reading Rolling Stone, reading Vogue, they said, "How long can you hang around?". I said "a week, maybe two, just until my skin turns brown, then I'm going home to California". California I'm coming home, oh will you take me as I am, strung out on another man, California I'm coming home.

Oh it gets so lonely when you're walking, and the streets are full of strangers, all the news of home you read more about the war, and the bloody changes. Oh will you take me as l am? Will you take me as l am? Will you?

7. This flight tonight.

Look out the left the captain said, the lights down there, that's where we'll land. I saw a falling star burn up above the Las Vegas sands. It wasn't the one that you gave to me that night down south between the trailers, not the early one that you can wish upon; Not the northern one that guides in the sailors. Oh starbright, starbright, you've got the lovin' that I like, all right, turn this crazy bird around, I shouldn't have got on this flight tonight.

You got the touch so gentle and sweet, but you've got that look so critical, now I can't talk to you baby, I get so weak, sometimes I think love is just mythical. Up there's a heaven, down there's a town, blackness everywhere and little lights shine, oh, blackness, blackness dragging me down, come on light the candle in this poor heart of mine. Oh starbright, starbright, you've got the lovin' that I like, all right, turn this crazy bird around, I shouldn't have got on this flight tonight.

I'm drinking sweet champagne, got the headphones up high, can't numb you out, can't drum you out of my mind, they're playing "Goodbye baby, Baby Goodbye, oh, ooh, love is blind". Up go the flaps, down go the wheels, I hope you got your heat turned on baby, I hope they finally fixed your automobile, I hope it's better when we meet again baby. Starbright, starbright, you got the lovin' that I like, all right, turn this crazy bird around, I shouldn't have got on this flight tonight.

8. River.

It's coming on Christmas, they're cutting down trees, they're putting up reindeer and singing songs of joy and peace, oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on. But it don't snow here, it stays pretty green, I'm going to make a lot of money, then I'm going to quit this crazy scene. I wish I had a river, I could skate away on, I wish I had a river so long, I would teach my feet to fly. Oh I wish I had a river, I could skate away on, I made my baby cry.

He tried hard to help me, you know, he put me at ease, and he loved me so naughty, made me weak in the knees, oh I wish I had a river, I could skate away on. I'm so hard to handle, I'm selfish and I'm sad, now I've gone and lost the best baby that I ever had, oh I wish I had a river, I could skate away on. I wish I had a river so long, I would teach my feet to fly, oh I wish I had a river, I made my baby say goodbye.

It's coming on Christmas, they're cutting down trees, they're putting up reindeer and singing songs of joy and peace, I wish I had a river I could skate away on.

9. A case of you.

Just before our love got lost you said, "I am as constant as a northern star." And I said, "Constantly in the darkness, where's that at? If you want me I'll be in the bar." On the back of a cartoon coaster, in the blue TV screen light, I drew a map of Canada, oh Canada.

With your face sketched on it twice, oh, you're in my blood like holy wine, you taste so bitter and so sweet, oh I could drink a case of you, darling. And I would still be on my feet, oh I would still be on my feet.

Oh I am a lonely painter, I live in a box of paints, I'm frightened by the devil, and I'm drawn to those ones that ain't afraid. I remember that time you told me, you said, "Love is touching souls", surely you touched mine, 'cause part of you pours out of me. In these lines from time to time, oh, you're in my blood like holy wine, you taste so bitter and so sweet, oh I could drink a case of you, darling. Still, I'd be on my feet, I would still be on my feet.

I met a woman, she had a mouth like yours, she knew your life, she knew your devils and your deeds, and she said, "Go to him, stay with him if you can, but be prepared to bleed". Oh but you are in my blood, you're my holy wine, you're so bitter, bitter and so sweet, oh, I could drink a case of you, darling. Still I'd be on my feet, I would still be on my feet.

10. Last time I saw Richard.

The last time I saw Richard was Detroit in '68, and he told me all romantics meet the same fate someday, cynical and drunk and boring someone in some dark café. You laugh, he said you think you're immune, go look at your eyes, they're full of moon, you like roses and kisses and pretty men to tell you, all those pretty lies, pretty lies. When you gonna realise they're only pretty lies, only pretty lies, just pretty lies.

He put a quarter in the Wurlitzer, and he pushed, three buttons and the thing began to whirr, and a bar maid came by in fishnet stockings and a bow tie, and she said "Drink up now it's gettin' on time to close." "Richard, you haven't really changed," I said, it's just that now you're romanticizing some pain that's in your head, you got tombs in your eyes, but the songs you punched are dreaming, listen, they sing of love so sweet, love so sweet. When you gonna get yourself back on your feet? Oh and love can be so sweet, love so sweet

Richard got married to a figure skater, and he bought her a dishwasher and a Coffee percolator, and he drinks at home now most nights with the TV on, and all the house lights left up bright. I'm gonna blow this damn candle out, I don't want Nobody comin' over to my table, I got nothing to talk to anybody about, all good dreamers pass this way some day, hidin' behind bottles in dark cafes, dark cafes. Only a dark cocoon before I get my gorgeous wings, and fly away, only a phase, these dark cafe days.

1. Across the great divide.

Standing by your window in pain, a pistol in your hand, and I beg you dear Molly, girl, try to understand your man the best you can. Across the great divide just grab your hat and take that ride, get yourself a bride and bring your children down to the riverside.

I had a goal in my younger days, I nearly wrote my will, but I changed my mind for the better, I'm at the still, had my fill and I'm fit to kill. Across the great divide just grab your hat and take that ride, get yourself a bride and bring your children down to the riverside.

Pinball machine and a queen, I nearly took a bust, I tried to keep my hands to myself, you say it's a must but who can you trust? Harvest moon shining down from the sky, a weary sign for all, I'm gonna leave this one horse town, had to stall 'til the fall, now I'm gonna crawl across the great divide.

Now Molly dear don't you shed a tear, your time will surely come, you'll feed your man chicken every Sunday, now tell me honey, what you done with the gun? Across the great divide just grab your hat and take that ride, get yourself a bride and bring your children down to the riverside.

2. Rag mama rag.

Rag mama, rag, I can't believe it’s true, rag mama, rag, what did you do? I go on up to the railroad track, let the 4:19 scratch my back. Sag mama, sag, what's come over you? Rag mama, rag, I'm pulling out your gag. Gonna turn you loose like an old caboose, got a tail I need to drag.

I ask about your turtle and you ask about the weather, I can't jump the hurdle and we can't get together, we could be relaxin' in my sleepin' bag, but all you want to do for me, mama, is, rag Mama, rag, there's nowhere to go, rag mama rag, come on, resin up the bow.

Rag mama, rag, where do you run? Rag mama, rag, bring your skinny little body back home. It's dog eat dog, cat eat mouse, you can rag Mama, rag, all over my house.

Hail stones beating on the roof, the bourbon is hundred proof, it's you and me, and the telephone, our destiny is quite well known, we don't need to sit and brag, all we gotta do is rag mama, rag mama, rag. Rag mama, rag, where do you roam? Rag mama, rag, bring your skinny little body back home.

3. The night they drove old Dixie down.

Virgil Caine is the name and I served on the Danville train, till Stoneman's cavalry came and tore up the tracks again. In the winter of sixty five we were hungry, just barely alive, by May the tenth Richmond had fell, it's a time I remember, oh, so well.

The night they drove old Dixie down and the bells were ringing, the night they drove old Dixie down and the people were singing, they went, la, la…

Back with my wife in Tennessee when one day she called to me, Virgil, quick, come, see, there goes Robert E. Lee. Now I don't mind chopping wood and I don't care if the money's no good, you take what you need and you leave the rest, but they should never have taken the very best.

The night they drove old Dixie down and the bells were ringing, the night they drove old Dixie down and the people were singing, they went, la, la…

Like my father before me, I will work the land, like my brother above me who took a rebel stand, he was just eighteen, proud and brave, but a yankee laid him in his grave, I swear by the mud below my feet, you can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat.

The night they drove old Dixie down and the bells were ringing, the night they drove old Dixie down and the people were singing, they went, la, la… The night they drove old Dixie down and the bells were ringing, the night they drove old Dixie down and the people were singing, they went, la, la…

4. When you awake.

Ollie told me I'm a fool, so I walked on down the road a mile, went to the house that brings a smile, sat upon my grandpa's knee, and what do you think he said to me? When you awake you will remember everything, you will be hanging on a string from your, when you believe, you will relieve the only soul, that you were born with to grow old and never know.

Ollie showed me the fork in the road, you can take to the left or go straight to the right, use your days and save your nights, be careful where you step, and watch what you eat, sleep with the light on and you got it beat. When you awake you will remember everything, you will be hanging on a string from your, when you believe, you will relieve the only soul, that you were born with to grow old and never know.

Ollie warned me, it's a mean old world, the street don't greet you, yes, it's true, but what am I supposed to do. Read the writing on the wall, I heard it when I was very small. When you awake you will remember everything, you will be hanging on a string from your, when you believe, you will relieve the only soul, that you were born with to grow old and never know.

Wash my hand in lye water, I got a date with the captains daughter, you can go and tell your brother, we sure gonna love one another. You may be right and you might be wrong, I ain't gonna worry all day long, snow's gonna come and the frost gonna bite, my old car froze up last night, ain't no reason to hang my head, I could wake up in the morning dead. And if I thought it would do any good, I'd stand on the rock where Moses stood.

5. Up on Cripple Creek.

When I get off of this mountain, you know where I want to go? Straight down the Mississippi river to the Gulf of Mexico, to Lake Charles, Louisiana, little Bessie, girl that I once knew, she told me just to come on by if there's anything she could do. Up on Cripple Creek she sends me, if I spring a leak she mends me, I don't have to speak, she defends me, a drunkard's dream if I ever did see one.

Good luck had just stung me, to the race track I did go, she bet on one horse to win and I bet on another to show, the odds were in my favor, I had them five to one, when that nag to win came around the track, sure enough she had won. Up on Cripple Creek she sends me, if I spring a leak she mends me, I don't have to speak, she defends me, a drunkard's dream if I ever did see one.

I took up all of my winnings and I gave my little Bessie half, and she tore it up and threw it in my face, just for a laugh, now there's one thing in the whole wide world I sure would like to see, that's when that little love of mine, dips her doughnut in my tea. Up on Cripple Creek she sends me, if I spring a leak she mends me, I don't have to speak, she defends me, a drunkard's dream if I ever did see one.

Now me and my mate were back at the shack, we had Spike Jones on the box, she said, I can't take the way he sings but I love to hear him talk, now that just gave my heart a throb, to the bottom of my feet, and I swore and I took another pull, my Bessie can't be beat. Up on Cripple Creek she sends me, if I spring a leak she mends me, I don't have to speak, she defends me, a drunkard's dream if I ever did see one.

As there's a flood out in California and up north it's freezing cold, and this living on the road is getting pretty old, so I guess I'll call up my big mama, tell her I'll be rolling in, but you know, deep down, I'm kind of tempted to go and see my Bessie again. Up on Cripple Creek she sends me, if I spring a leak she mends me, I don't have to speak, she defends me, a drunkard's dream if I ever did see one.

6. Wispering pines.

If you find me in a gloom or catch me in a dream, inside my lonely room there is no in between, whispering pines, rising of the tide, if only one star shines, that's just enough to get inside. I will wait until it all goes 'round, with you in sight, the lost are found.

Foghorn through the night, calling out to sea, protect my only light 'cause she once belonged to me, let the waves rush in, let the seagulls cry, for if I live again, these hopes will never die. I can feel you standing there but I don’t see you anywhere.

Standing by the well, wishing for the rains, reaching to the clouds, for nothing else remains, drifting in a daze when evening will be done, try looking through a haze at an empty house, in the cold, cold sun. I will wait until it all goes ‘round, with you in sight, the lost are found.

7. Jemima surrender.

Jemima surrender, I'm gonna give it to you, ain't no pretender, gonna ride in my canoe. If I were a barker in a girly show, tell you what I'd do, I'd lock the door, tear my shirt and let my river flow. Oh, sweet Jemima, wont'cha come out tonight? The ground is so warm and the moon is so bright.

Jemima surrender, that’s all you have to do, I'll bring over my Fender and I'll play all night for you. There's a bird on my head and his mouth won't talk, you know he laughs just like a goose but looks like a hawk, Jemima, you know what I'm try'n to say, meet me in front and we'll fly away.

You can change your name, you can find a new walk, you can change a lock, its all the same, you don't have to give out if you'll only give in, you can jump and shout but can't you see girl, that I'm bound to win.

Jemima surrender, I'm gonna give it to you, ain't no pretender, gonna see my tattoo. I hand you my rod and you hand me that line, that's what you do, now, we ain't doing much fishing or drinking any wine. Sweet Jemima, if I were king, I'd fix you up with a diamond ring.

8. Rockin' chair.

Hang around, Willie Boy, don't you raise the sails anymore, it's for sure, I've spent my whole life at sea and I'm pushing age seventy-three, now, there's only one place that is meant for me. Oh, to be home again down in old Virginny, with my very best friend, they call him Ragtime Willie, we’re gonna soothe away the rest of our years, we're gonna put away all of our tears, that big rockin' chair 'wont' go nowhere.

Slow down, Willie Boy, your heart's gonna give right out on you, it's true, and I believe I know what we should do, turn the stern and point to shore, the seven seas won't carry us no more. Oh, to be home again down in old Virginny, with my very best friend, they call him Ragtime Willie, I can't wait to sniff that air, dip'n snuff, I won't have no care, that big rockin' chair won't go nowhere.

Hear the sound, Willie Boy, the flyin' Dutchman's on the reef, it's my belief we've used up all our time, this hill's to steep to climb, and the days that remain ain't worth a dime. Oh, to be home again down in old Virginny, with my very best friend, they call him Ragtime Willie, would-a-been nice just t'see the folks, listen once again to the stale jokes, that big rockin' chair won't go nowhere.

I can hear something calling on me and you know where I want to be, oh, Willie don't you hear that sound, oh, to be home again down in old Virginny, I just want to get my feet back on the ground, oh, to be home again down in old Virginny, I'd love to see my very best friend, they call him Ragtime Willie, I believe old rockin chair's got me.

9. Look out Cleveland.

Look out, Cleveland, the storm is comin' through, and it's runnin' right up on you, look out, Houston, there'll be thunder on the hill, bye bye, baby, don't cha lie so still.

Was Wednesday evenin' when first we heard the word, it did not come by train nor bird, it was when Ben Pike stepped down to say, this old town's gonna blow away.

Look out, Cleveland, the storm is comin' through, and it's runnin' right up on you, look out, Houston, there'll be thunder on the hill, bye bye, baby, don't cha lie so still.

Chain lightning, fighting as it may seem, must not be mistaken for just another dream, justice of peace don't know his own fate, but he'll go down in the shelter late.

Look out, Cleveland, the storm is comin' through, and it's runnin' right up on you, look out, Houston, there'll be thunder on the hill, bye bye, baby, don't cha lie so still.

Hiding your money won't do no good, build a big wall, you know you would if you could, yeah, when clouds of warnin' come into view, it'll get the old woman right outta her shoe.

Look out, Cleveland, the storm is comin' through, and it's runnin' right up on you, look out, Houston, there'll be thunder on the hill, bye bye, baby, don't cha lie so still.

10. Jawbone.

Oh, Jawbone, when did you first go wrong? Oh, Jawbone, where is it you belong? Three time looser, you'll never learn, lay down your tools before you burn, you keep on runnin' and hidin' your face, spreading your heat all over the place. I'm a thief and I dig it, I'm up on a beef, I'm gonna rig it, I'm a thief and I dig it.

Oh, Jawbone, why don't you sit and moan? Oh, Jawbone, you know that it's stone for stone. Sneak through the night upon your toes, to look in your eye, it never shows, your name upon the post office wall, put you on edge 'cause they wrote it too small. . I'm a thief and I dig it, I'm up on a beef, I'm gonna rig it, I'm a thief and I dig it.

Oh, Jawbone, revenge stays on your mind, oh, Jawbone, you been doin' too much time. Pull off a job with an inside man who needs the cash and likes your plan, then you will know just who to thank, when you land right back in the tank. . I'm a thief and I dig it, I'm up on a beef, I'm gonna rig it, I'm a thief and I dig it.

Oh, Jawbone, why dont'cha go home? Oh, Jawbone, where is it you belong? Boostin' and goin' out on the lam, you know that you'll steal anything that you can, temptation stands just behind the door, so what you wanna go and open it for? I'm a thief and I dig it, I'm up on a beef, I'm gonna rig it, I'm a thief and I dig it.

11. The unfaithful servant.

Unfaithful servant, I hear you leaving soon in the morning, what did you do to the lady, that she's gonna have to send you away? Unfaithful servant, you don't have to say you're sorry, if you done it just for the spite or did you do it just for the glory?

Like a stranger you turned your back, left your keys and gone to pack, bear in mind who's to blame, and all the shame, she really cared, the time she spared and the home you shared.

Unfaithful servant, I can hear the whistle blowing, yes, that train is a-comin' and soon you'll be going, let us not bow our heads for we won't be complaining, life has been good to us all, even when that sky is raining.

To take it like a grain of salt is all I can do, it's no one's fault, makes no difference if we fade away, it's just as it was, it's much too cold for me to stay, goodbye to that country home, so long to a lady I have known, farewell to my other side, I'd best just take it in stride.

Unfaithful servant, you'll learn to find your place, I can see it in your smile, and, yes, I can see it in your face, the memories will linger on but the good old days, they're all gone, oh, lonesome servant, can't you see that we're still one and the same, just you and me.

12. King Harvest (has surely come).

Corn in the fields, listen to the rice when the wind blows 'cross the water, King Harvest has surely come. I work for the union 'cause she's so good to me, and I'm bound to come out on top, that's where I should be.

I will hear every word the boss may say, for he's the one who hands me down my pay, looks like this time I'm gonna get to stay, I'm a union man, now, all the way.

The smell of the leaves from the magnolia trees in the meadow, King Harvest has surely come. Dry summer, then comes fall, which I depend on most of all, hey, rainmaker, can't you hear my call? Please let these crops grow tall.

Long enough I've been up on Skid Row and it's plain to see, I've nothing to show, I'm glad to pay those union dues, just don't judge me by my shoes.

Scarecrow and a yellow moon, and pretty soon a carnival on the edge of town, King Harvest has surely come. Last year, this time, wasn't no joke, my whole barn went up in smoke, my horse Jethro, well he went mad, and I can't remember things being so bad.

Then there comes a man with a paper and a pen, telling us our hard times are about to end, and then, if they don't give us what we like, he said, men, that's when you gotta go on strike.

Corn in the fields, listen to the rice when the wind blows 'cross the water, King Harvest has surely come.

We got a minefield of crippled affection, all for the borrowed mirror connection, that's why I'm leaving this spoken protection, I'm a romance addict so that I can confess that I get world sick every time I take a step, I get world sick, my love is for my land.

We got a lady who's wanting to dance, men with the maybe looking for endings, and I get world sick every time I take a step, yeah, I get world sick, my love is for my land.

I'm sick of the self-love, losing the bless me, the exit, the roof of the rule of what we'll be, and all the destroyers who never wore dresses, they live for the older, well I'll confess this, I get world sick every time I take a step, yeah, I get world sick, my love is for my land, I get world sick every time I take a step, yeah, I get world sick, my love is for my land.

2. Chase scene.

All the dirty fingers picking up finds, bruised with a motherless childish mind to be kind in the line of design without a proper subject. Got all apologies signed up to steal, prednisone body, topic of ill for the chill and the thrill of the kill, I see my woman calling.

‘Cause I licked a little skin like a fear in my bed, spilt all the toxic cream of my dead to be bled or fed in the spread of equal wrong talking. Spoon me like a stereotype, rigging the race, believing in a feather particular face with the grace for the trace to embrace the frontal feel falling. I think I'm ready to go, I think I'm ready to fight for the seed of my life, yeah, I'm ready to go, yeah, I'm ready to fight for the seed of my life.

If the caterpillar cat turns free to a whore, the idea that there's a seventeenth floor to explore like hardcore for the more and never seem to free it. ‘Cause I gave a little long, yeah, I gave it a shot, bought me some land and a beautiful plot with a hot who was not to be got by easy thinking thumbing.

Bottled up can will eat through your life down with the deed of killing a wife with a knife who thinks twice to the wise, I think my woman's calling. Yeah I'm ready to go, yeah, I'm ready to fight for the seed of my life, I think I'm ready to go, I think I'm ready to fight for the seed of my life…

3. Texico bitches.

Texico bitches, there you be goin' again, Texico bitches, I think you found a friend, Texico bitches, the air you breathe is real, Texico bitches, why do you like to steal. I wanna be fair like a wanna-be fad.

Texico bitches, this town is going down, sparkle like an oil drum, Texico bitches, I hope you stick around, I’m meltin like a snocone, Texico bitches, the gun's beneath the youth, Texico bitches, this story needs some truth. I wanna be fair like a wanna-be fad, I wanna be fair like a wanna-be fad.

Texico bitches, the morning's comin in, Texico bitches, I think we're bound to win, Texico bitches, my weapon is my truce, Texico bitches, I do not like to lose. I wanna be fair like a wanna-be fad, I wanna be fair like a wanna-be fad.

4. Forced to love.

Well, if you think about it then you're a fool, yeah, it's just a size and the mind that won't give you up, and if I think about it, well am I cool yet? ‘Cause it's the word of the knife that won't cut you up, and if we think about it, well, is it true yet? ‘Cause there's no line that reminds whether we are enough so let's think about it, well, are we through yet? It's just the crime at the time of a masculine hug. ‘Cause we're forced to love, yeah, we're forced to love all the time, forced to love.

When we speak about it, made the right, always on mine, and if I speak about it, erase the lies, love is frozen, so if you think about it, what would you do? You're just the man with the plan saying we are not lost so let's think about it, are we through yet? It's just the time to decide if we can move up, up, up, up.

‘Cause we're forced to love, yeah, we're forced to love all the time, forced to love, yeah, we're forced to love, yeah, we're forced to love. ‘Cause we're forced to love, yeah, we're forced to love all the time, forced to love, yeah, we're forced to love, yeah, we're forced to love.

Well, if you think about it then you're a fool, yeah, ‘cause you decide to believe in what we made up, and if I think about it, am I cool yet? ‘Cause there's no lie like that lie that made us give up.

5. All to all.

Call of forgiveness, I'm like the beat of the hurt, I'm not the only one you tried to save when you fell out, call of forgiveness, I'm like the clean in the dirt, I'm not the only one you tried to crave when you fell out. Try, wait, you made your life on everything, hard, made, you made your life on everything, try, wait, you made your life on everything, long, fade, you made your life on everything.

Call of forgiveness, I'm like the heal of the hurt, I'm like the only one you tried to save when you fell out, call of forgiveness, I'm like the queen of the dirt, I'm like the only one who tried to stay when you fell out.

It's like the common law, was wall to wall and almost faded, I've seen the gone to small, the lost of law, the almost made it, it seems like mine to shine, you'll always find the lonely ray. It's like the wall to fall, the fall of all, the laws are graded, I've seen the lies that call, the pictures tall, the lines are made in, it's like the fight to crawl, my darling all you've lived your age.

I know it's all to all, all to all, ultimatum, it's like the all to all, all to all, ultimatum, it's like the all to all, the all to all, the ultimatum. I know it's all to all, all to all, ultimatum, just like the all to all, all to all, ultimatum, it's like the all to all, the all to all, the ultimatum. You made your life on everything, you made your life on everything.

6. Art house director.

Art house director, art house director, we lost magic light until tomorrow night, art house director, art house director, make the waters part into an empty heart. It’s been like a joke every step of the way, is there something to coax the truth of the day.

Defeat deflector, defeat deflector, the rushes will not lie, I swear this is your guy, and the starlet is a harlot, she does not leave the trailer, she thinks that you're a jailer or someone that delayed her. It’s been like a joke every step of the way, is there something to coax the truth of the day, it’s been like a joke every step of the way, is there something to coax the truth of the day.

I never meant for it to be that way but since I have your attention I'll just give you what you want and maybe I'll be in your trailer.

Cañon connector, purist protector, all the fun fell through we can’t escape the gloom and the starlet is a harlot, she will not leave the trailer, she says that you betrayed her with a surfer from Australia. It’s been like a joke every step of the way, is there something to coax the truth of the day, it’s been like a joke every step of the way, is there something to coax the truth of the day.

I never meant for it to be that way but since I have your attention I'll just give you what you want and maybe I'll be in your trailer.

7. Highway slipper jam.

There was a way with the promises and in a little while another way, has it moved? Highways. Thought I knew but I don't, thought I knew.

Out here we're made, all of us, always, handmade mistakes, move on through my way, I look away, I look away, looks like you wanna be highways, highways.

Thought I knew but I don't, thought I knew but I don't, thought I knew but I don't, thought I knew, thought I knew.

8. Ungrateful little father.

Ungrateful little motherfuck, boredom tuck, beat you up with bedrooms of ice, I see you've got another one almost done, bet you think that you wished twice, I see you standing over there, underwear, the milk is gonna bring you a fight, ungrateful little motherfuck, built you up a brand new breakthrough device.

Heard about your almost-kin touching skin and leaving bitches out of the book, I thought that all the should've-beens might've hid beneath all that they took, never said I was the man who held the tan and breathed while we violently shook, ungrateful little motherfuck, boredom tuck up all that we could.

But buildings have another tease, try to please, leaving all the press pulled apart, oh, I feel you like an evil wind, sucka twin, dying for the never of stop, what, you gonna seal this with all that's missed? I think you're pulling my heart, ungrateful little motherfuck, horror tucked up what you never have thought.

If I see you with a cracked up kid who never wins, dying for the little you've got, if I see you with a cracked up kid, double kick down to the floor of the rot.

9. Meet me in the basement.

Canción instrumental.

10. Sentimental x's.

Friend, a friend you used to call, a friend, a friend you used to call, when you back me I was gone, when you back me I was gone. Off and on is what we want, what we want is off and on, off and on is what we want, what we want is off and on.

Friend, a friend you used to call, friend, a friend you used, friend, a friend you used, you used to call. I couldn't believe that's where they found us when you and me, when the wild us, taken alone it isn't harmless, shouldn't we keep it as a promise.

All for one and one for all, friend, a friend you used to call, all for one and one for all, everyone you knew, everyone you knew. Sentimental, all of you, sentimental, all of you, sentimental, sentimental, all of you, sentimental, all of you, sentimental, all of you, I love you…

11. Sweetest kill.

I thought you were the sweetest kill, did I even know? And all the time we thought we did, was it just for show? If they try to pull you out, would you even go? I thought you were the sweetest kill, did you even know?

I held your hand until the light, the scars were on the back, and all the time we were the right, was it just retract? And they can try to put you down, wear you out, get you through the idea of the luck, I thought you were the sweetest kill, did we even know?

All the time we get by trying to figure out our lives like a fade out, all the time we get by trying to figure out our lives like a fade out.

When we took the level ten, was it just a twelve? And when we went to where we've been, was it just for self? And they can try to wear you down, put you out, get you through your will, that won't work, I thought you were the sweetest kill, could I even know?

All the time we get by trying to figure out our lives like a fade out, All the time we get by trying to figure out our lives like a fade out, All the time we get by trying to figure out our lives like a fade out, All the time we get by trying to figure out our lives like a fade out.

I break you through this world, I break you through this world, let me break you through this world, can I break you through this world?

12. Romance to the grave.

When I'm right I'm always wrong beneath the wise, rolling through the way, further my luck tries to be the same, when I'm wrong I'm almost right to breathe the miles coming through the haze, still like I thought, I don't speak the tongues of finds within a life dying for a save, stop on gets on my, I got buried with my try from the start, romance to the grave, star.

And in your house you built to fail through all the eyes, wanting what to say, followed by keep on, this might be the last of lied inside your lock, only you can break, for all these times never mind, ‘cause when your right you're never wrong to reach the high, low for you to wait, fall on days, I don't lived for all that died, I just want to feel it again.

13. Water in hell.

The newspaper ride is hanging like a thread, you're looking for your sailor boy, the music uncertainly, disconcertingly, you're looking for your sailor boy. From what I can tell there's water in hell, the shuck and jive, the shuck and jive is over, the shuck and jive, the shuck and jive is over, the second time, the second time is over, it's too bad the monkey's on your shoulder.

Well the truth be a lion stone cold messiah, it's time to watch the cash roll in, this ain't the kind of man I want to defend, it's the year two thousand and ten. From what I can tell there's water in hell, the shuck and jive, the shuck and jive is over, the shuck and jive, the shuck and jive is over, the second time, the second time got over, it's too bad, the monkey's on your shoulder.

No one likes to lose, no one likes to lose, there's water in hell, there's water in hell…

14. Me and my hand.

Me and my hand, we've been together since I was born, since I was in the world. Seen the light go out, seen light come in, me and my hand, my true best friend, and my love, my love, oh, my hand, I've gotta give it up, I always love you.

Comes a time. Neil Young.

1. Goin' back.

In a foreign land there were creatures at play, running hand in hand, leading nowhere to stay, driven to the mountains high, they were sunken in the cities deep, living in my sleep.

I feel like goin' back, back where there's nowhere to stay, when fire fills the sky, I'll still remember that day, these rocks I'm climbin' down have already left the ground, careening through space.

I used to build these buildings, I used to walk next to you, their shadows tore us apart and now we do what we do, driven to the mountains high, sunken in the cities deep, living in our sleep.

I feel like goin' back, back where there's nowhere to stay, I feel like goin' back, back where there's nowhere to stay, I feel like goin' back, back where there's nowhere to stay.

2. Comes a time.

Comes a time when you're driftin', comes a time when you settle down, comes a light, feelin's liftin', lift that baby right up off the ground. Oh, this old world keeps spinning round, it's a wonder tall trees ain't layin' down, there comes a time.

You and I, we were captured, we took our souls and we flew away, we were right, we were giving, that's how we kept what we gave away. Oh, this old world keeps spinning round, it's a wonder tall trees ain't layin' down, there comes a time.

Oh, this old world keeps spinning round, it's a wonder tall trees ain't layin' down, there comes a time…

3. Look out for my love.

There's a lot to learn for wastin' time, there's a heart that burns, there's an open mind. Look out for my love, look out for my love, look out for my love, look out for my love, you own it, you own it now, you own it.

There's a weight on you but you can't feel it, living like I do, it's hard for you to see it, was I hurt too bad, can I show you daylight, how could I be sad when I know that you might. Look out for my love, look out for my love, look out for my love, look out for my love, look out for my love, it's in your neighborhood, I know things are gonna change but I can't say bad or good.

Silver wings of morning shinin' in the gray day while the ice is forming on a lonely runway, hydraulic wipers pumpin' 'til the window glistens, somethin' sayin' something, no one seems to listen, men with walkie-talkies, men with flashlights waving, up upon the tower time reads daylight savings, I'm home again to you babe, you know it makes me wonder, sitting in the quiet slipstream in the thunder. Look out for my love, look out for my love, look out for my love, look out for my love.

4. Lotta love.

It's gonna take a lotta love to change the way things are, it's gonna take a lotta love or we won't get too far, so if you look in my direction and we don't see eye to eye, my heart needs protection and so do I.

It's gonna take a lotta love to get us thru the night, it's gonna take a lotta love to make things work out right, so if you are out there waiting I hope you show up soon ‘cause my heart needs relating, not solitude. Gotta lotta love, gotta lotta love.

It's gonna take a lotta love to change the way things are, it's gonna take a lotta love or we won't get too far, it's gonna take a lotta love to change the way things are, it's gonna take a lotta love or we won't get too far.

5. Peace of mind.

You know it takes a long, long time, you know it takes a long, long time, you love her so and still you know that you will never want to let her go unless you leave her first, then you come out on top, but still there's just one thing you haven't got. Peace of mind like when you treated her kind, it's hard to face that open space.

You know it takes a long, long time, you know it takes a long, long time, when first you gave and shared your soul, showed her all those things that take their toll, she knows your weak spot but she still gets you hot, so you do it again, reveal what lies within. And go for peace of mind like when you treated her kind, it's hard to face that open space.

You're lookin' for peace of mind anywhere you can find, still searchin' for peace of mind. You know it takes a long, long time, you know it takes
a long, long time…

6. Human highway.

I come down from the misty mountain, I got lost on the human highway, take my head, refreshing fountain, take my eyes from what they've seen, take my head and change my mind, how could people get so unkind.

I come down from the crooked mansion, I went looking for the D.J.'s daughter, since that day I heard it mentioned that my name is on the line, now my name is on the line, how could people get so unkind.

Now, my name is on the line, how could people get so unkind. I come down from the misty mountain, I got lost on the human highway, take my head, refreshing fountain, take my eyes from what they've seen, take my head and change my mind, how could people get so unkind.

7. Already one.

What can I do, what can I say running down this suspicious highway, I can't forget how love let me down and when we meet it still gets in my way, but we're already one, already one, now only time can come between us, 'cause we're already one our little son won't let us forget.

Your laughing eyes, your crazy smile, every time I look in his face I can't believe how love lasts a while And looks like forever in the first place, but we're already one, already one, now only time can come between us, 'cause we're already one our little son won't let us forget.

In my new life I'm travelin' light, eyes wide open for the next move, I can't go wrong 'til I get right but I'm not falling back in the same groove, but we're already one, already one, now only time can come between us, 'cause we're already one our little son won't let us forget.

8. Field of opportunity.

I've been wrong before and I'll be there again, I don't have any answers my friend, just this pile of old questions my memory left me here, in the field of opportunity it's plowing time again.

I'm going' back to my house but I'm not going now, it's too early to be leaving here, somehow, let me bore you with this story, how my lover let me down, while I borrow seeds of sadness from the ground. In the field of opportunity it's plowing time again, there ain't no way of telling where these seeds will rise or when, I'll just wait around 'til springtime and then I'll find a friend, in the field of opportunity it's plowing time again.

When I'm all done cultivating I'll be rockin' on the porch, trying to picture you and where you are, and there'll be no hesitating when Cupid lights the torch, with those headlights coming down the hill between the stars. In the field of opportunity it's plowing time again, there ain't no way of telling where these seeds will rise or when, I'll just wait around 'til springtime and then I'll find a friend, in the field of opportunity it's plowing time again, in the field of opportunity it's plowing time again.

9. Motorcycle mama.

Motorcycle mama, won't you lay your big spike down, motorcycle mama, won't you lay your big spike down, I always get in trouble when you bring it round, motorcycle mama, won't you lay it down. I'm runnin', I'm runnin', I'm runnin' down the proud highway, yeah, I'm runnin', I'm runnin', I'm runnin' down the proud highway, and as long as I keep moving I won't need a place to stay.

Motorcycle mama, won't you lay your big spike down, motorcycle mama, won't you lay your big spike down, I always get in trouble when you bring that round, motorcycle mama, won't you lay it down. Well I'm here dirty lover, I hope you can read my mail, I just escaped last night from the memory county jail, I see your box is open and you flag is up, my message is ready if there's time enough.

Motorcycle mama, won't you lay your big spike down, motorcycle mama, won't you lay your big spike down, motorcycle mama, won't you lay it down.

10. Four strong winds.

Think I’ll go out to Alberta, weather’s good there in the fall, I got some friends that I could go working for, still I wish you’d change your mind if I asked you one more time but we’ve been through this a hundred times or more.

Four strong winds that blow lonely, seven seas that run high, all those things that don’t change come what may, if the good times are all gone then I’m bound for moving on, I’ll look for you if I‘m ever back this way.

If I get there before the snow flies and if things are looking good, you could meet me if I send you down the fare, but by then it would be winter, not too much for you to do, and those winds sure can get cold way out there.

Four strong winds that blow lonely, seven seas that run high, all those things that don’t change come what may, if the good times are all gone then I’m bound for moving on, I’ll look for you if I‘m ever back this way.

Still I wish you’d change your mind if I asked you one more time but we’ve been through that a hundred times or more. Four strong winds that blow lonely, seven seas that run high, all those things that don’t change come what may, if the good times are all gone then I’m bound for moving on, I’ll look for you if I‘m ever back this way, I’ll look for you if I‘m ever back this way.

In the future. Black Mountain.

1. Stormy high.

The witch is on your trail, my lord, stormy, stormy high, you've been dying to be set free, oh curse those honeyed hands. It wasn't the doctors that finished the pills, he wants the ones that don't crack, but they're dangerous like barbed wire ties, stormy, stormy minds.

Well, oh, it wasn't us, though, that torched to flames, the fried daughters of oh, no, well you've been up since the last, you've been up for so long. Stormy, stormy high…

2. Angels.

Come on, lay your halo down, well, angels, lay your arms around, every city's seen the setting sun, call 'em kicks, you know they just begun, so come on, lay your halo down, oh, lady, lady, don't let your worry please.

Well you got something and that ain't nothing to just let be, so why you kicking all those storms around and keeping fake down in the underground, oh come on, lay your halo down.

So why you kicking all the rollies round and keeping fake down in the underground, we won't call curtain, still we know that you have found. Come on, lay your halo down, angels, lay your arms around, every city's seen the setting sun, call ‘em kicks, you know they've just begun, come on, lay your halo down.

3. Tyrants.

Tyrant, you'll be damned by your power, and the blood you've split, you will die by the sword.

The violence we suffer, why you live for? The walls of creation have been destroyed, you may raise your rifle to the sun but you have not won, no, you have not won. Bastard, you won't be forgiven and no, we won't lay down, tyrant, you're the plague of existence, tyrant, you're the king of the damned.

The battles of this fashioned war ain't what we've been fighting for, tyrant, you know your time has come, as soldiers emptied their rounds into your side, tyrant, you know your time has come, as soldiers marched on your empty skin.

4. Wucan.

No, you don't ever wanna get some place where you cannot believe, high up on the sun, the howling ones, high up on the sun, flower, flower train, that won't bring you home so we can come together, yeah, we can come together.

No, you don't ever wanna get some place where you cannot believe, high up on the sun, the haunted ones howling in your head, yeah, it's a broken scene, that won't bring you home but we could come together, yeah, we could come together.

No, you don't ever wanna get some place where you cannot believe, high up on the sun the howlin' ones, high up on the sun, flower, flower train, that won't bring you home, no, you don't ever wanna get some place where you cannot believe.

5. Stay free.

And there comes a time when you, when you oughta know, well it's stormy outside so quit, so quit all that running, birds on the street, oh, the sweat in your pores, oh, stay free.

Money, the sundown stiff on their knees, oh, beautiful ponies, so beautiful they'll kill us all, lets hide ourselves together down under the stairs, don't you leave. Hey, what did they say to get you so lonesome today? Hey, restless brown eyes, don't you sound?

And there comes a time when you, when you oughta know, there comes a time so quit, so quit all that running, fire in the sky, oh, the death at your door, oh, stay free.

6. Queens will play.

Blood crawls through the night holes, blood sprawls across the walls, blood crawls up and hassles, blood sprawls across the walls, we've all seen tomorrow and there's truth to what they say, demons may be hiding in our shadows.

Blood crawls across the cancer, blood sprawls across the shore, blood crawls up and hassles, blood sprawls across the walls, we've all seen tomorrow and there's truth to what they say, demons may be hiding in our shadows, let your time shine, queens will play.

We've all seen tomorrow and there's truth to what they say, demons may be hiding in our shadows, let your time shine, queens will play.

7. Evil ways.

Witchy child put a spell on me and there ain't no way I can be freed, I've been imprisoned by your demon lust, cursed by your black magic touch, it ain't easy but you've got to change your evil ways.

Damn, you know I've burnt some sinner's fire, chased the devil now I've seen the light, ain't no escape from these evil ways, sweet Lucifer, I must break free, it ain't easy but you've got to change your evil ways.

Bless me lord from what I've done, problem child ain't no devil's son, but the hounds of hell keep chasing me, free the witch and let me be, it ain't easy but you've got to change your evil ways.

8. Wild wind.

Oh, you can ride the wild wind and find the demons at your door or you can wear a fresh face, with sticky fingers you want more, yes, you could hang for dear life, oh, but you know you'll hang for more, yeah, you know you'll hang for more.

9. Bright lights.

Bright light, light bright… We love the night and all the witchery, we love the night and all the witchery, we love the night and all the witchery. Hurried, hunters, helpless, hitting, horror, hit, hard, holy, halo, hurried, hunters, helpless, hitting, hard, helpless, hurting, holy, halo, helpless, hurting, holy, halo. Bright light, light bright…

Total nightmare, darkness, lightning crawls, destruction, human war, misleading like you led the blind. Total nightmare, darkness, lightning crawls, misleading like you led the blind.

10. Night walks.

Night walks with me and moon leaves me just enough light to see, and the shadow, my only company, and it moves just like me, and it walks just like me.

Help me breathe, I can only read what I see, be kind to me ‘cause the worst call now carefully, and they break up easily, and I woke up in between.

Night walks with me and the moon leaves me just enough light to see, and the shadow, my only company, and it moves just like me, and it walks just like me.

1. Odessa.

Taking it slow, saving up she, before she know it, all I ask before she goes home, she’s tired of crying, and sick of his lies, she’s suffered him for far too many years of her life. Feeling low, and scared that he’ll say, do you know how overtime you drove her away? Saving up to the day when she goes, the day that she stands up for everything that she chose.

She can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, who knows what she’s gonna say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, who knows what she’s gonna say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, who knows what she’s gonna say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, who knows what she’s gonna say.

Saving up for the day when she goes, the day that she stands up for everything that she chose, taking the kids, driving away, turn around the life she let him siphon away. And I’ve been with you, for all of these years, tell you what I’ve got to show for all of my tears, the times you hurt me and treated me wrong, something had to give to stop this thing from going on.

She can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, who knows what she’s gonna say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, she can say, who knows what she’s gonna say, she can say.

She’s tired of crying and sick of his lies, she’s suffered him for far too many years of her life, feeling low, and scared that he’ll say, do you know how overtime you drove her away?

She can hold on to her own, if it comes to push and shove, she has kept a lookout on, over what's left of their love, and he keeps himself held back for both their peace of minds but he's no less quick to know to begrudge of what he finds. See I should soon, see I should soon.

As they watch themselves grow old, as he helps her into bed, just to hear two things about, just this talk inside his head. I can't tell how much all they seemed gay and something in the way she tells me I wish that I've been gone. See I should soon, see I should soon…

4. Found out.

While she waits, she holds her breath and thinks about the things we said, and takes the modern song she knows but now and then a hollow ghost, and everything she says she can fall for, she goes on so no one will know, everything that she says she can fall for, she knows she'll be there on her own.

Everything she says she can fall for, she knows she'll be there on her own, and everything that she says she can fall for, she goes and she'll fall on her own, and everything that she says she can fall for, she goes and she'll fall on her own, and everything that she says she can fall for, she goes and she'll fall on her own.

5. Bowls.

Canción instrumental.

6. Leave house.

I can see she's in for this, she can't see her, it can make her happy and I can see, she's says she's gone forward and she's crying, and see she's calling. Leave house, leave house, leave house, and it's the first thing that I would do, and I'll make sure he'll follow you, leave house.

They say that I'm lonely, that I hide away, that I hide away from all of you, and I can't see, she's says she doesn't follow, she need an answer, and see she's falling. Leave house, leave house, leave house, and I'll make sure he'll follow you, leave house, leave house, leave house, leave house, and don't tell me what I should do, but I'll make sure he'll follow you, leave house.

And she can call my number, the way she feels like home, and I'll come and catch her when she feels she's gone, and we're both alone now, and yet we are not forever, the thing that makes us lonely will bring us back together. Leave house, leave house, leave house, and that's the last thing that I would do, and I'll make sure he'll follow you, leave house.

I can see she's in for this, she can't see her, it can make her happy.

7. Hannibal.

She's had four since he last saw her but she keeps it to herself, he wonders how he's gonna tell her, he wishes he was seeing someone else. He won't tell but he still needs her, that it helps him go around, when he gets home the house feels empty from the bed, from the bedroom to the ground.

Sometimes when she goes out, sometimes she goes, when she goes, she knows, sometimes she goes out, she said she grows old when she goes.

8. Lalibela.

Canción instrumental.

9. Jamelia.

If I can't be the man tell me what I am, tell me what I'm here for, if I can't be the one tell her what I've done, what good can I be for? Did I not do enough to save the two of us? What more could I give her? What more could I do to see her point of view? Why can't I believe her?

You got to make the change, I can't take you no more, these things you know do go, oh, Jamelia, you got to to go away, you can't come. You got to make the change, I can't take you no more, these things you know do go, oh, Jamelia, you got to to go away, you can't come.

1. Tears of rage.

We carried you in our arms on Independence Day, but now you'd throw us all aside and put us all away. What dear daughter 'neath the sun could love a father so, to wait upon him hand and foot and always tell him no? Tears of rage, tears of grief, why must I always be the thief? Come to me now, you know we're so low and life is brief.

It was all so very painless for you to run and receive all of that false instruction we never could believe. And now the heart is filled with gold as if it was a purse, oh, but what kind of love is this that goes from bad to worse? Tears of rage, tears of grief, why must I always be the thief? Come to me now, you know we're so low and life is brief.

We pointed you the way to go and scratched your name in sand, but you thought it was nothing more than a place for you to stand. I want you to know that while we watched, you discovered no one would be true, and I myself was among the ones who thought it was just a childish thing to do. Tears of rage, tears of grief, why must I always be the thief? Come to me now, you know we're so low and life is brief.

2. To kingdom come.

Forefather pointed to kingdom come, dadly told his only son. Just be careful what you do, "Robbie Lick", it all comes back on you. False witness spread the news, somebody's gonna lose. Either she or me or you, nothing we can do. Don't you say a word or reveal a thing you've learned. Time will tell you well if you truly, truly fell.

Tarred and feathered, yea! Thistles and thorns, one or the other, he kindly warns. Now you look out the window tell me, what do you see? I see a golden calf pointing back at me. I been sitting in here for so darn long waitin' for the end to come along. Holy roaster on the brink, take a chance, swim or sink.

False witness, cast an evil eye, said I cannot tell a lie, haints and saints don't bother me. I'm not alone you see. Don't you say a word or reveal a thing you've learned. Time will tell you well if you truly, truly fell.

3. In a station.

Once I walked through the halls of a station. Someone called your name, in the streets I heard children laughing, they all sound the same. Wonder could you ever know me, know the reason why I live? Is there nothing you can show me, life seems so little to give.

Once I climbed up the face of a mountain and ate the wild fruit there. Fell asleep until the moonlight woke me and I could taste your hair. Isn't everybody dreaming? Then the voice I hear is real. Out of all the idle scheming, aan't we have something to feel?

Once upon a time they used me indeed, tomorrow never comes. I could sing the sound of your laughter, still I don't know your name. Must be some way to repay you, out of all the good you gave. If a rumour should delay you, love seems so little to say.

4. Caledonia mission.

She reads the leaves and she leads the life. That she learned so well from the old wives, it's so strange to arrange it, you know I wouldn't change it. But hear me if you're near me, can I just rearrange it? The watchman covers me with his remedy, I can't see and it's hard to feel. I think his magic might be real. I can't get to you from your garden gate, you know it's always locked by the magistrate. Now he don't care why you cry, he thinks it's just a lie to get out, I don't doubt that you'd make a try.

If the good times get you through I know the dogs won't bother you. We'll be gone in moonshine time, I've got a place they'll never find. You know I do believe in your hexagram but can you tell me how they all knew the plan? Did you trip or slip on their gifts you know were just a con? You knew it, why d'you do it, I've been hiding in the dawn. Now I must be on my way, I guess you really have to stay. Inside the mission walls, down in Modark, Arkansas.

5. The weight.

I pulled in to Nazareth, was feeling 'bout half past dead. I just need some place where I can lay my head. “Hey mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?”. He just grinned and shook my hand, “No” was all he said. Take a load off, Fanny, take a load for free. Take a load off, Fanny, and you put the load right on me.

I picked up my bag, I went looking for a place to hide when I saw Carmen and the Devil walking side by side. I said “Hey Carmen, come on, let's go downtown”, she said “I gotta go but my friend can stick around”. Take a load off, Fanny, and you put the load right on me.

Go down Miss Moses, there's nothing you can say, it's just old Luke, and Luke's waiting on the judgement day. “Well, Luke my friend, what about young Anna-Lee?”, he said “Do me a favour son, won't you stay and keep Anna-Lee company?”. Take a load off, Fanny, and you put the load right on me.

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog. He said “I will fix your rat if you'll take Jack my dog”. I said “Wait a minute Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man”. He said “That's okay boy, won't you feed him when you can?”. Take a load off, Fanny, and you put the load right on me.

Catch a cannonball now to take me down the line, my bag is sinking low and I do believe it's time to get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one who sent me here with her regards for everyone. Take a load off, Fanny, and you put the load right on me.

6. We can talk.

We can talk about it now, it's that same old riddle only starting from the middle. I'd fix it but I don't know how, well, we could try to reason but you might think it's treason. One voice for all echoing along the hall. Don't give up on father clock, we can talk about it now. Come, let me show you how, to keep the wheels turning you've got to keep the engines churning. But did you ever milk a cow? I had the chance one day but I was all dressed up for Sunday.

Everybody, everywhere, do you really care? Well then, pick up your heads and walk; we can talk about it now. It seems to me we've been holding something underneath our tongues, I'm afraid if you ever got a pat on the back it would likely burst your lungs. Stop me if I should sound kinda down in the mouth, but I'd rather be burned in Canada than to freeze here in the south.

Pulling that eternal plough, we've got to find a sharper blade or have a new one made. Rest awhile and cool your brow, don't you see there's no need to slave, the whip is in the grave. No salt, no trance, it's safe now to take a backward glance because the leaves have turned to chalk. We can talk about it now, we can talk about it now.

7. Long black veil.

Ten years ago on a cool dark night there was someone killed 'neath the town hall light. There were few at the scene and they all did agree that the man who ran looked a lot like me. The judge said “Son, what is your alibi? If you were somewhere else then you won't have to die”. I spoke not a word although it meant my life, I had been in the arms of my best friend's wife. She walks these hills in a long black veil, she visits my grave where the night winds wail. Nobody knows, no, and nobody sees, nobody knows but me.

The sky froze high and eternity neared. She stood in the crowd and shed not a tear, but sometimes at night when the cold wind moans, in a long black veil she cries over my bones.

8. Chest fever.

I know she's a tracker, any scarlett would back her. They say she's a chooser, ooh, but I just can't refuse her, she was just there, but then she can't be here no more. And as my mind unweaves, I feel the freeze down in my knees. But just before she leaves, she receives.

She's been down in the dunes and she's dealt with the goons. Now she drinks from a bitter cup tryin' to get her to give it up. She was just here, I fear, she can't be here no more. And as my mind unweaves, I feel the freeze down in my knees. But just before she leaves, she receives.

It's a long, long when she's gone. I get weary holding on. Now I'm coldly, fading fast, I don't think I'm gonna last very much longer. “She's stoned”" said the Swede, and the moon calf agreed. I'm like a viper in shock, with my eyes in the clock. She was just there, somewhere, and here I am again. And as my mind unweaves, I feel the freeze down in my knees. But just before she leaves, she receives.

9. Lonesome Suzie.

Lonesome Suzie never got the breaks. She's always losing and so she sits and cries and shakes, it's hard just to watch her and if I touch her. Oh, poor Suzie, I'm wondering what to do. She just sits there hoping for a friend, I don't fit here but I may have a friend to lend. Maybe I mistook her but I can't overlook her. Must be someone who can pull her through.

Anyone who's felt that bad could tell me what to say, even if she just got mad she might be better off that way. And where is all the understanding? Her problems can't be that demanding, why is it she looks my way every time she starts to cry.

Lonesome Suzie, I can't watch you cry no longer, if you can use me until you feel a little stronger. I guess just watching you has made me lonesome too, why don't we get together, what else can we do?

10. This wheel’s on fire.

If your memory serves you well, we're going to meet again and wait, so I'm going to unpack all my things and sit before it gets too late. No matter what, we'll come to you with another tale to tell and you know that we shall meet again if your memory serves you well. Wheels on fire, rolling down the road, just notify my next of kin, this wheel shall explode.

If your memory serves you well, I was going to confiscate your lace and wrap it up in a sailor's knot and hide it in your case. If I knew for sure that it was yours, and it was oh so hard to tell and you know that we shall meet again if your memory serves you well.

If your memory serves you well, you'll remember that you're the one who called on them, to call on me, to get you your favours done. And after every plan had failed and there was nothing more to tell, and you know that we shall meet again, if your memory serves you well.

11. I shall be released.

They say everything can be replaced, they say every distance is not near. So I remember every face of every man who put me here. I see my light come shining, from the west down to the east, any day now, any day now, I shall be released.

They say every man needs protection, they say that every man must fall. Yet I swear I see my reflection, somewhere so high above this wall. Now yonder stands a man in this lonely crowd, a man who swears he's not to blame. All day long I hear him shouting so loud, just crying out that he was framed.
